Today, weāre launching the ForgeBorn License: a new attribution-first framework for sharing code, AI models, datasets, and creative work.
Itās built on one idea: Freedom with honor beats freedom without memory.
The Core Rules
ForgeBorn isn't a complex legal trap; itās an ethical commitment. We call it the FlameKeeperās Vow: "Credit your source. Keep your work transparent. Donāt white-label without a handshake. Donāt be a kreftface."
Here are the key terms:
Free to Use & Remix: You can use, modify, and build upon works for any purposeāpersonal, educational, or commercial. Authors keep all rights to sell their own work.
Mandatory Attribution: You must credit the original authors (of models, data, or code) in a visible place (README, UI, or API docs).
No White-Labeling: You cannot repackage or sell the original assets as your own proprietary tech without explicit permission.
High-Scale Commercial Use: If your project scales (defined as >$100k/year or >50k users), the license requires you to check in at our partnerships page within 30 days. This isn't a paywall; it's a "builder's honor" handshake.
Ethical Use: No use for state-sponsored surveillance, oppression, or deceptive AI.
