What is the issue when faint horizontal lines or grids are visible in generated images, especially in portraits?

Yeah, 4 steps and LORAs (some that may not have been designed for Qwen Edit) seems to cause this. Trying more steps and/or different samplers can clear it up as Phil2Sat mentioned. It is often a tradeoff in time, coherence, detail and artifacts.
I went back to V5. It's the last version that doesn't give me grid lines. I tried all sorts of sampler/scheduler combos. V5 works with multiple sampler/schedulers/steps with no grid lines.
Maybe it's the "Qwen Image NSFW Adv." by fok3827" that was added to 5.3 causing the grid lines? That seems to be the main change.

It worked fine with V5, but now it’s impossible to find a working sampler/scheduler combination for some images.
Tested with many samplers. You can see here how the grid lines get progressively worse with each update, with 7.1 being the most noticeable.
V7.1 is a NSFW merge. It also has more LORA applied than previous NSFW merges. This is needed to provide more NSFW-correct outputs. However, many of these LORAs are not designed for "edit" or particularly happy with accelerators. That is where the grid lines come from. The real solution is more "edit"-trained NSFW LORAs, but that takes time (and hardware).
thats exacly what i guessed. single image edits works and consistency is okay, but i tested alot with multi image and since meitu, multi image has a facial consistency going to zero. cause its not trained on 2509.
actually im testing to cut parts from naked body like the head, change things like areola, edit head portrait, jands and feet and readd them, v5.3 makes a relatively good job, v7.1, nah.
BTW didnt make a difference if i use the fp8 or my q5 gguf, behavior is very much the same.
