HoloDreamer: Holistic 3D Panoramic World Generation from Text Descriptions

3D scene generation is in high demand across various domains, including virtual reality, gaming, and the film industry. Owing to the powerful generative capabilities of text-to-image diffusion models that provide reliable priors, the creation of 3D scenes using only text prompts has become viable, thereby significantly advancing researches in text-driven 3D scene generation. In order to obtain multiple-view supervision from 2D diffusion models, prevailing methods typically employ the diffusion model to generate an initial local image, followed by iteratively outpainting the local image using diffusion models to gradually generate scenes. Nevertheless, these outpainting-based approaches prone to produce global inconsistent scene generation results without high degree of completeness, restricting their broader applications. To tackle these problems, we introduce HoloDreamer, a framework that first generates high-definition panorama as a holistic initialization of the full 3D scene, then leverage 3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS) to quickly reconstruct the 3D scene, thereby facilitating the creation of view-consistent and fully enclosed 3D scenes. Specifically, we propose Stylized Equirectangular Panorama Generation, a pipeline that combines multiple diffusion models to enable stylized and detailed equirectangular panorama generation from complex text prompts. Subsequently, Enhanced Two-Stage Panorama Reconstruction is introduced, conducting a two-stage optimization of 3D-GS to inpaint the missing region and enhance the integrity of the scene. Comprehensive experiments demonstrated that our method outperforms prior works in terms of overall visual consistency and harmony as well as reconstruction quality and rendering robustness when generating fully enclosed scenes.

Holo360D: A Large-Scale Real-World Dataset with Continuous Trajectories for Advancing Panoramic 3D Reconstruction and Beyond

While feed-forward 3D reconstruction models have advanced rapidly, they still exhibit degraded performance on panoramas due to spherical distortions. Moreover, existing panoramic 3D datasets are predominantly collected with 360 cameras fixed at discrete locations, resulting in discontinuous trajectories. These limitations critically hinder the development of panoramic feed-forward 3D reconstruction, especially for the multi-view setting. In this paper, we present Holo360D, a comprehensive dataset containing 109,495 panoramas paired with registered point clouds, meshes, and aligned camera poses. To our knowledge, Holo360D is the first large-scale dataset that provides continuous panoramic sequences with accurately aligned high-completeness depth maps. The raw data are initially collected using a 3D laser scanner coupled with a 360 camera. Subsequently, the raw data are processed with both online and offline SLAM systems. Furthermore, to enhance the 3D data quality, a post-processing pipeline tailored for the 360 dataset is proposed, including geometry denoising, mesh hole filling, and region-specific remeshing. Finally, we establish a new benchmark by fine-tuning 3D reconstruction models on Holo360D, providing key insights into effective fine-tuning strategies. Our results demonstrate that Holo360D delivers superior training signals and provides a comprehensive benchmark for advancing panoramic 3D reconstruction models. Datasets and Code will be made publicly available.

MoVerse: Real-Time Video World Modeling with Panoramic Gaussian Scaffold

We present MoVerse, a real-time video world model that creates an interactively navigable scene from a single narrow-field-of-view image. This setting is challenging because the input observes only a small fraction of the environment, while interactive roaming requires a complete surrounding world, persistent geometry, controllable camera motion, and temporally coherent high-fidelity observations. MoVerse addresses this problem by separating world construction from observation rendering. It first expands the input into a gravity-aligned 360^circ panorama with topology-aware diffusion, closing the missing field of view before 3D reasoning. It then lifts the panorama into a persistent 3D Gaussian scaffold using panoramic geometry-aware residual prediction, yielding a dense and directly renderable spatial memory. Finally, a Gaussian-conditioned video renderer translates scaffold renderings along user-specified camera trajectories into photorealistic video. To make this renderer practical for interaction, we train a bidirectional diffusion teacher for high-quality conditional rendering and distill it into a causal autoregressive student for bounded-latency streaming. This design combines the controllability and long-range consistency of explicit 3D representations with the perceptual quality of generative video models. MoVerse supports real-time scene roaming at 8~FPS on a single NVIDIA RTX~4090 GPU, demonstrating a practical path toward single-image world creation with interactive video output.

Pano3DComposer: Feed-Forward Compositional 3D Scene Generation from Single Panoramic Image

Current compositional image-to-3D scene generation approaches construct 3D scenes by time-consuming iterative layout optimization or inflexible joint object-layout generation. Moreover, most methods rely on limited field-of-view perspective images, hindering the creation of complete 360-degree environments. To address these limitations, we design Pano3DComposer, an efficient feed-forward framework for panoramic images. To decouple object generation from layout estimation, we propose a plug-and-play Object-World Transformation Predictor. This module converts the 3D objects generated by off-the-shelf image-to-3D models from local to world coordinates. To achieve this, we adapt the VGGT architecture to Alignment-VGGT by using target object crop, multi-view object renderings and camera parameters to predict the transformation. The predictor is trained using pseudo-geometric supervision to address the shape discrepancy between generated and ground-truth objects. For input images from unseen domains, we further introduce a Coarse-to-Fine (C2F) alignment mechanism for Pano3DComposer that iteratively refines geometric consistency with feedback of scene rendering. Our method achieves superior geometric accuracy for image/text-to-3D tasks on synthetic and real-world datasets. It can generate a high-fidelity 3D scene in approximately 20 seconds on an RTX 4090 GPU. Project page: https://qiuzidian.github.io/pano3dcomposer-page/.

How and What to Imagine? Visual Thinking in Unified Multimodal Models for Cross-View Spatial Reasoning

Cross-view spatial reasoning remains a weak spot for vision-language models (VLMs): they often reason in language and lose the fine-grained geometry needed for the task. Thinking with images aims to address this by generating an intermediate thinking image, but recent work shows that models often ignore the visual evidence in these traces. We therefore ask how to make visual thinking matter, and what kind of visual thinking works best. We study these questions in unified multimodal models (UMMs), which natively support interleaved image-text generation. For the first question, we propose View Dropout (VDrop), a training-time intervention that hides parts of one input view from the answer span while keeping them visible to the thinking-image tokens. This encourages the model to use the thinking image when answering, instead of relying only on the input views. Once the thinking image is used for answer prediction, we study which type of visual thinking is most effective. We frame this as a learnability-informativeness tradeoff and compare three thinking-image variants: top-down, panoramic, and point-matching renderings. Trained on synthetic scenes and evaluated on five real-world out-of-domain benchmarks, panoramic visual thinking with VDrop is the only configuration that is both informative and learnable, and it achieves the best out-of-domain generalization.

EvoWorld: Evolving Panoramic World Generation with Explicit 3D Memory

Humans possess a remarkable ability to mentally explore and replay 3D environments they have previously experienced. Inspired by this mental process, we present EvoWorld: a world model that bridges panoramic video generation with evolving 3D memory to enable spatially consistent long-horizon exploration. Given a single panoramic image as input, EvoWorld first generates future video frames by leveraging a video generator with fine-grained view control, then evolves the scene's 3D reconstruction using a feedforward plug-and-play transformer, and finally synthesizes futures by conditioning on geometric reprojections from this evolving explicit 3D memory. Unlike prior state-of-the-arts that synthesize videos only, our key insight lies in exploiting this evolving 3D reconstruction as explicit spatial guidance for the video generation process, projecting the reconstructed geometry onto target viewpoints to provide rich spatial cues that significantly enhance both visual realism and geometric consistency. To evaluate long-range exploration capabilities, we introduce the first comprehensive benchmark spanning synthetic outdoor environments, Habitat indoor scenes, and challenging real-world scenarios, with particular emphasis on loop-closure detection and spatial coherence over extended trajectories. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our evolving 3D memory substantially improves visual fidelity and maintains spatial scene coherence compared to existing approaches, representing a significant advance toward long-horizon spatially consistent world modeling.

Sekai2: From World Exploration to Interactive World Modeling

Video world models must capture how scenes evolve over time and across viewpoints. Training them for long-horizon generation and camera control therefore benefits from long videos paired with camera trajectories and temporally grounded semantics. Existing corpora rarely offer the three together: large-scale web video provides broad visual diversity but no trajectories or time-aligned text, while pose-annotated datasets are typically short-range or reconstruction-oriented. We introduce Sekai2, a multi-source real-world video dataset that carries the world-exploration footage of Sekai toward interactive world modeling. The release contains 128,892 clips totaling 2,826 hours from 10,428 source videos across 113 countries or regions, and is deliberately weighted toward sustained observation: under a common 120-second decomposition, 43,594 segments reach the full two minutes and account for 51.4% of all footage. Every clip includes a released camera trajectory and hierarchical annotations disentangling subject motion, environment dynamics, static scene content, and camera behavior, resulting in 649,597 temporally grounded segments. Crucially, we further introduce 982 panoramic sequences captured along non-linear trajectories with loops and revisits. These revisits provide repeated observations of the same locations across time and viewpoints, offering essential supervision for learning persistent scene representations, long-term spatial memory, and geometrically consistent world models. Corpus-scale analyses demonstrate complete pose-and-caption coverage, broad geographic and semantic diversity, varied camera trajectories, and highly non-redundant temporal descriptions. Together, these properties make Sekai2 a scalable resource for long-horizon video generation, camera-controllable synthesis, and interactive world-model pre-training.

WorldStereo: Bridging Camera-Guided Video Generation and Scene Reconstruction via 3D Geometric Memories

Recent advances in foundational Video Diffusion Models (VDMs) have yielded significant progress. Yet, despite the remarkable visual quality of generated videos, reconstructing consistent 3D scenes from these outputs remains challenging, due to limited camera controllability and inconsistent generated content when viewed from distinct camera trajectories. In this paper, we propose WorldStereo, a novel framework that bridges camera-guided video generation and 3D reconstruction via two dedicated geometric memory modules. Formally, the global-geometric memory enables precise camera control while injecting coarse structural priors through incrementally updated point clouds. Moreover, the spatial-stereo memory constrains the model's attention receptive fields with 3D correspondence to focus on fine-grained details from the memory bank. These components enable WorldStereo to generate multi-view-consistent videos under precise camera control, facilitating high-quality 3D reconstruction. Furthermore, the flexible control branch-based WorldStereo shows impressive efficiency, benefiting from the distribution matching distilled VDM backbone without joint training. Extensive experiments across both camera-guided video generation and 3D reconstruction benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Notably, we show that WorldStereo acts as a powerful world model, tackling diverse scene generation tasks (whether starting from perspective or panoramic images) with high-fidelity 3D results. Models will be released.

HY-World 2.0: A Multi-Modal World Model for Reconstructing, Generating, and Simulating 3D Worlds

We introduce HY-World 2.0, a multi-modal world model framework that advances our prior project HY-World 1.0. HY-World 2.0 accommodates diverse input modalities, including text prompts, single-view images, multi-view images, and videos, and produces 3D world representations. With text or single-view image inputs, the model performs world generation, synthesizing high-fidelity, navigable 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) scenes. This is achieved through a four-stage method: a) Panorama Generation with HY-Pano 2.0, b) Trajectory Planning with WorldNav, c) World Expansion with WorldStereo 2.0, and d) World Composition with WorldMirror 2.0. Specifically, we introduce key innovations to enhance panorama fidelity, enable 3D scene understanding and planning, and upgrade WorldStereo, our keyframe-based view generation model with consistent memory. We also upgrade WorldMirror, a feed-forward model for universal 3D prediction, by refining model architecture and learning strategy, enabling world reconstruction from multi-view images or videos. Also, we introduce WorldLens, a high-performance 3DGS rendering platform featuring a flexible engine-agnostic architecture, automatic IBL lighting, efficient collision detection, and training-rendering co-design, enabling interactive exploration of 3D worlds with character support. Extensive experiments demonstrate that HY-World 2.0 achieves state-of-the-art performance on several benchmarks among open-source approaches, delivering results comparable to the closed-source model Marble. We release all model weights, code, and technical details to facilitate reproducibility and support further research on 3D world models.

PanoWorld: Towards Spatial Supersensing in 360$^\circ$ Panorama World

Multimodal large laboratory models (MLLMs) still struggle with spatial understanding under the dominant perspective-image paradigm, which inherits the narrow field of view of human-like perception. For navigation, robotic search, and 3D scene understanding, 360-degree panoramic sensing offers a form of supersensing by capturing the entire surrounding environment at once. However, existing MLLM pipelines typically decompose panoramas into multiple perspective views, leaving the spherical structure of equirectangular projection (ERP) largely implicit. In this paper, we study pano-native understanding, which requires an MLLM to reason over an ERP panorama as a continuous, observer-centered space. To this end, we first define the key abilities for pano-native understanding, including semantic anchoring, spherical localization, reference-frame transformation, and depth-aware 3D spatial reasoning. We then build a large-scale metadata construction pipeline that converts mixed-source ERP panoramas into geometry-aware, language-grounded, and depth-aware supervision, and instantiate these signals as capability-aligned instruction tuning data. On the model side, we introduce PanoWorld with Spherical Spatial Cross-Attention, which injects spherical geometry into the visual stream. We further construct PanoSpace-Bench, a diagnostic benchmark for evaluating ERP-native spatial reasoning. Experiments show that PanoWorld substantially outperforms both proprietary and open-source baselines on PanoSpace-Bench, H* Bench, and R2R-CE Val-Unseen benchmarks. These results demonstrate that robust panoramic reasoning requires dedicated pano-native supervision and geometry-aware model adaptation. All source code and proposed data will be publicly released.

TeleWorld: Towards Dynamic Multimodal Synthesis with a 4D World Model

World models aim to endow AI systems with the ability to represent, generate, and interact with dynamic environments in a coherent and temporally consistent manner. While recent video generation models have demonstrated impressive visual quality, they remain limited in real-time interaction, long-horizon consistency, and persistent memory of dynamic scenes, hindering their evolution into practical world models. In this report, we present TeleWorld, a real-time multimodal 4D world modeling framework that unifies video generation, dynamic scene reconstruction, and long-term world memory within a closed-loop system. TeleWorld introduces a novel generation-reconstruction-guidance paradigm, where generated video streams are continuously reconstructed into a dynamic 4D spatio-temporal representation, which in turn guides subsequent generation to maintain spatial, temporal, and physical consistency. To support long-horizon generation with low latency, we employ an autoregressive diffusion-based video model enhanced with Macro-from-Micro Planning (MMPL)--a hierarchical planning method that reduces error accumulation from frame-level to segment-level-alongside efficient Distribution Matching Distillation (DMD), enabling real-time synthesis under practical computational budgets. Our approach achieves seamless integration of dynamic object modeling and static scene representation within a unified 4D framework, advancing world models toward practical, interactive, and computationally accessible systems. Extensive experiments demonstrate that TeleWorld achieves strong performance in both static and dynamic world understanding, long-term consistency, and real-time generation efficiency, positioning it as a practical step toward interactive, memory-enabled world models for multimodal generation and embodied intelligence.

HoloTime: Taming Video Diffusion Models for Panoramic 4D Scene Generation

The rapid advancement of diffusion models holds the promise of revolutionizing the application of VR and AR technologies, which typically require scene-level 4D assets for user experience. Nonetheless, existing diffusion models predominantly concentrate on modeling static 3D scenes or object-level dynamics, constraining their capacity to provide truly immersive experiences. To address this issue, we propose HoloTime, a framework that integrates video diffusion models to generate panoramic videos from a single prompt or reference image, along with a 360-degree 4D scene reconstruction method that seamlessly transforms the generated panoramic video into 4D assets, enabling a fully immersive 4D experience for users. Specifically, to tame video diffusion models for generating high-fidelity panoramic videos, we introduce the 360World dataset, the first comprehensive collection of panoramic videos suitable for downstream 4D scene reconstruction tasks. With this curated dataset, we propose Panoramic Animator, a two-stage image-to-video diffusion model that can convert panoramic images into high-quality panoramic videos. Following this, we present Panoramic Space-Time Reconstruction, which leverages a space-time depth estimation method to transform the generated panoramic videos into 4D point clouds, enabling the optimization of a holistic 4D Gaussian Splatting representation to reconstruct spatially and temporally consistent 4D scenes. To validate the efficacy of our method, we conducted a comparative analysis with existing approaches, revealing its superiority in both panoramic video generation and 4D scene reconstruction. This demonstrates our method's capability to create more engaging and realistic immersive environments, thereby enhancing user experiences in VR and AR applications.

Grounding World Simulation Models in a Real-World Metropolis

What if a world simulation model could render not an imagined environment but a city that actually exists? Prior generative world models synthesize visually plausible yet artificial environments by imagining all content. We present Seoul World Model (SWM), a city-scale world model grounded in the real city of Seoul. SWM anchors autoregressive video generation through retrieval-augmented conditioning on nearby street-view images. However, this design introduces several challenges, including temporal misalignment between retrieved references and the dynamic target scene, limited trajectory diversity and data sparsity from vehicle-mounted captures at sparse intervals. We address these challenges through cross-temporal pairing, a large-scale synthetic dataset enabling diverse camera trajectories, and a view interpolation pipeline that synthesizes coherent training videos from sparse street-view images. We further introduce a Virtual Lookahead Sink to stabilize long-horizon generation by continuously re-grounding each chunk to a retrieved image at a future location. We evaluate SWM against recent video world models across three cities: Seoul, Busan, and Ann Arbor. SWM outperforms existing methods in generating spatially faithful, temporally consistent, long-horizon videos grounded in actual urban environments over trajectories reaching hundreds of meters, while supporting diverse camera movements and text-prompted scenario variations.

HunyuanWorld 1.0: Generating Immersive, Explorable, and Interactive 3D Worlds from Words or Pixels

Creating immersive and playable 3D worlds from texts or images remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision and graphics. Existing world generation approaches typically fall into two categories: video-based methods that offer rich diversity but lack 3D consistency and rendering efficiency, and 3D-based methods that provide geometric consistency but struggle with limited training data and memory-inefficient representations. To address these limitations, we present HunyuanWorld 1.0, a novel framework that combines the best of both worlds for generating immersive, explorable, and interactive 3D scenes from text and image conditions. Our approach features three key advantages: 1) 360{\deg} immersive experiences via panoramic world proxies; 2) mesh export capabilities for seamless compatibility with existing computer graphics pipelines; 3) disentangled object representations for augmented interactivity. The core of our framework is a semantically layered 3D mesh representation that leverages panoramic images as 360{\deg} world proxies for semantic-aware world decomposition and reconstruction, enabling the generation of diverse 3D worlds. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in generating coherent, explorable, and interactive 3D worlds while enabling versatile applications in virtual reality, physical simulation, game development, and interactive content creation.

Gimbal360: Differentiable Auto-Leveling for Canonicalized 360^circ Panoramic Image Completion

Diffusion models excel at 2D outpainting, but extending them to 360^circ panoramic completion from unposed perspective images is challenging due to the geometric and topological mismatch between perspective projections and spherical panoramas. We present Gimbal360, a principled framework that explicitly bridges perspective observations and spherical panoramas. We introduce a Canonical Viewing Space that regularizes projective geometry and provides a consistent intermediate representation between the two domains. To anchor in-the-wild inputs to this space, we propose a Differentiable Auto-Leveling module that stabilizes feature orientation without requiring camera parameters at inference. Panoramic generation also introduces a topological challenge. Standard generative architectures assume a bounded Euclidean image plane, while Equirectangular Projection (ERP) panoramas exhibit intrinsic S^1 periodicity. Euclidean operations therefore break boundary continuity. We address this mismatch by enforcing topological equivariance in the latent space to preserve seamless periodic structure. To support this formulation, we introduce Horizon360, a curated large-scale dataset of gravity-aligned panoramic environments. Extensive experiments show that explicitly standardizing geometric and topological priors enables Gimbal360 to achieve state-of-the-art performance in structurally consistent 360^circ scene completion.

4K4DGen: Panoramic 4D Generation at 4K Resolution

The blooming of virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies has driven an increasing demand for the creation of high-quality, immersive, and dynamic environments. However, existing generative techniques either focus solely on dynamic objects or perform outpainting from a single perspective image, failing to meet the needs of VR/AR applications. In this work, we tackle the challenging task of elevating a single panorama to an immersive 4D experience. For the first time, we demonstrate the capability to generate omnidirectional dynamic scenes with 360-degree views at 4K resolution, thereby providing an immersive user experience. Our method introduces a pipeline that facilitates natural scene animations and optimizes a set of 4D Gaussians using efficient splatting techniques for real-time exploration. To overcome the lack of scene-scale annotated 4D data and models, especially in panoramic formats, we propose a novel Panoramic Denoiser that adapts generic 2D diffusion priors to animate consistently in 360-degree images, transforming them into panoramic videos with dynamic scenes at targeted regions. Subsequently, we elevate the panoramic video into a 4D immersive environment while preserving spatial and temporal consistency. By transferring prior knowledge from 2D models in the perspective domain to the panoramic domain and the 4D lifting with spatial appearance and geometry regularization, we achieve high-quality Panorama-to-4D generation at a resolution of (4096 times 2048) for the first time. PAN: A World Model for General, Interactable, and Long-Horizon World Simulation

A world model enables an intelligent agent to imagine, predict, and reason about how the world evolves in response to its actions, and accordingly to plan and strategize. While recent video generation models produce realistic visual sequences, they typically operate in the prompt-to-full-video manner without causal control, interactivity, or long-horizon consistency required for purposeful reasoning. Existing world modeling efforts, on the other hand, often focus on restricted domains (e.g., physical, game, or 3D-scene dynamics) with limited depth and controllability, and struggle to generalize across diverse environments and interaction formats. In this work, we introduce PAN, a general, interactable, and long-horizon world model that predicts future world states through high-quality video simulation conditioned on history and natural language actions. PAN employs the Generative Latent Prediction (GLP) architecture that combines an autoregressive latent dynamics backbone based on a large language model (LLM), which grounds simulation in extensive text-based knowledge and enables conditioning on language-specified actions, with a video diffusion decoder that reconstructs perceptually detailed and temporally coherent visual observations, to achieve a unification between latent space reasoning (imagination) and realizable world dynamics (reality). Trained on large-scale video-action pairs spanning diverse domains, PAN supports open-domain, action-conditioned simulation with coherent, long-term dynamics. Extensive experiments show that PAN achieves strong performance in action-conditioned world simulation, long-horizon forecasting, and simulative reasoning compared to other video generators and world models, taking a step towards general world models that enable predictive simulation of future world states for reasoning and acting.

MTPano: Multi-Task Panoramic Scene Understanding via Label-Free Integration of Dense Prediction Priors

Comprehensive panoramic scene understanding is critical for immersive applications, yet it remains challenging due to the scarcity of high-resolution, multi-task annotations. While perspective foundation models have achieved success through data scaling, directly adapting them to the panoramic domain often fails due to severe geometric distortions and coordinate system discrepancies. Furthermore, the underlying relations between diverse dense prediction tasks in spherical spaces are underexplored. To address these challenges, we propose MTPano, a robust multi-task panoramic foundation model established by a label-free training pipeline. First, to circumvent data scarcity, we leverage powerful perspective dense priors. We project panoramic images into perspective patches to generate accurate, domain-gap-free pseudo-labels using off-the-shelf foundation models, which are then re-projected to serve as patch-wise supervision. Second, to tackle the interference between task types, we categorize tasks into rotation-invariant (e.g., depth, segmentation) and rotation-variant (e.g., surface normals) groups. We introduce the Panoramic Dual BridgeNet, which disentangles these feature streams via geometry-aware modulation layers that inject absolute position and ray direction priors. To handle the distortion from equirectangular projections (ERP), we incorporate ERP token mixers followed by a dual-branch BridgeNet for interactions with gradient truncation, facilitating beneficial cross-task information sharing while blocking conflicting gradients from incompatible task attributes. Additionally, we introduce auxiliary tasks (image gradient, point map, etc.) to fertilize the cross-task learning process. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MTPano achieves state-of-the-art performance on multiple benchmarks and delivers competitive results against task-specific panoramic specialist foundation models.

One Flight Over the Gap: A Survey from Perspective to Panoramic Vision

Driven by the demand for spatial intelligence and holistic scene perception, omnidirectional images (ODIs), which provide a complete 360 field of view, are receiving growing attention across diverse applications such as virtual reality, autonomous driving, and embodied robotics. Despite their unique characteristics, ODIs exhibit remarkable differences from perspective images in geometric projection, spatial distribution, and boundary continuity, making it challenging for direct domain adaption from perspective methods. This survey reviews recent panoramic vision techniques with a particular emphasis on the perspective-to-panorama adaptation. We first revisit the panoramic imaging pipeline and projection methods to build the prior knowledge required for analyzing the structural disparities. Then, we summarize three challenges of domain adaptation: severe geometric distortions near the poles, non-uniform sampling in Equirectangular Projection (ERP), and periodic boundary continuity. Building on this, we cover 20+ representative tasks drawn from more than 300 research papers in two dimensions. On one hand, we present a cross-method analysis of representative strategies for addressing panoramic specific challenges across different tasks. On the other hand, we conduct a cross-task comparison and classify panoramic vision into four major categories: visual quality enhancement and assessment, visual understanding, multimodal understanding, and visual generation. In addition, we discuss open challenges and future directions in data, models, and applications that will drive the advancement of panoramic vision research. We hope that our work can provide new insight and forward looking perspectives to advance the development of panoramic vision technologies. LayerPano3D: Layered 3D Panorama for Hyper-Immersive Scene Generation

3D immersive scene generation is a challenging yet critical task in computer vision and graphics. A desired virtual 3D scene should 1) exhibit omnidirectional view consistency, and 2) allow for free exploration in complex scene hierarchies. Existing methods either rely on successive scene expansion via inpainting or employ panorama representation to represent large FOV scene environments. However, the generated scene suffers from semantic drift during expansion and is unable to handle occlusion among scene hierarchies. To tackle these challenges, we introduce LayerPano3D, a novel framework for full-view, explorable panoramic 3D scene generation from a single text prompt. Our key insight is to decompose a reference 2D panorama into multiple layers at different depth levels, where each layer reveals the unseen space from the reference views via diffusion prior. LayerPano3D comprises multiple dedicated designs: 1) we introduce a novel text-guided anchor view synthesis pipeline for high-quality, consistent panorama generation. 2) We pioneer the Layered 3D Panorama as underlying representation to manage complex scene hierarchies and lift it into 3D Gaussians to splat detailed 360-degree omnidirectional scenes with unconstrained viewing paths. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our framework generates state-of-the-art 3D panoramic scene in both full view consistency and immersive exploratory experience. We believe that LayerPano3D holds promise for advancing 3D panoramic scene creation with numerous applications.

L-MAGIC: Language Model Assisted Generation of Images with Coherence

In the current era of generative AI breakthroughs, generating panoramic scenes from a single input image remains a key challenge. Most existing methods use diffusion-based iterative or simultaneous multi-view inpainting. However, the lack of global scene layout priors leads to subpar outputs with duplicated objects (e.g., multiple beds in a bedroom) or requires time-consuming human text inputs for each view. We propose L-MAGIC, a novel method leveraging large language models for guidance while diffusing multiple coherent views of 360 degree panoramic scenes. L-MAGIC harnesses pre-trained diffusion and language models without fine-tuning, ensuring zero-shot performance. The output quality is further enhanced by super-resolution and multi-view fusion techniques. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the resulting panoramic scenes feature better scene layouts and perspective view rendering quality compared to related works, with >70% preference in human evaluations. Combined with conditional diffusion models, L-MAGIC can accept various input modalities, including but not limited to text, depth maps, sketches, and colored scripts. Applying depth estimation further enables 3D point cloud generation and dynamic scene exploration with fluid camera motion. Code is available at https://github.com/IntelLabs/MMPano. Adapting Vision-Language Models for Evaluating World Models

World models -- generative models that simulate environment dynamics conditioned on past observations and actions -- are gaining prominence in planning, simulation, and embodied AI. However, evaluating their rollouts remains a fundamental challenge, requiring fine-grained, temporally grounded assessment of action alignment and semantic consistency -- capabilities not captured by existing metrics. Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have shown promise as automatic evaluators of generative content due to their strong multimodal reasoning abilities. Yet, their use in fine-grained, temporally sensitive evaluation tasks remains limited and requires targeted adaptation. We introduce a evaluation protocol targeting two recognition tasks -- action recognition and character recognition -- each assessed across binary, multiple-choice, and open-ended formats. To support this, we present UNIVERSE (UNIfied Vision-language Evaluator for Rollouts in Simulated Environments), a method for adapting VLMs to rollout evaluation under data and compute constraints. We conduct a large-scale study comparing full, partial, and parameter-efficient finetuning across task formats, context lengths, sampling strategies, and data compositions. The resulting unified evaluator matches the performance of task-specific baselines using a single checkpoint. Human studies confirm strong alignment with human judgments, establishing UNIVERSE as a scalable, semantics-aware evaluator for world models.

WorldRover: A Scalable Synthetic Video Data Engine for World Exploration with Rich Annotations

Learning to generate or reconstruct explorable worlds requires video paired with more than RGB: camera motion, scene geometry, temporal correspondence and, for interactive models, control signals. Real capture can provide some of these signals, but dense geometry and long-range correspondence usually rely on estimation or specialised instrumentation. Rendering provides these quantities directly, yet existing synthetic resources rarely combine them on the same frames while also supporting controlled changes of viewpoint and appearance. We introduce WorldRover, a data engine for generating richly annotated, long-range explorations of artist-built environments. At its core, WorldRover-Engine is an Unreal Engine pipeline that executes and offline-renders minute-scale routes while preserving their full trajectories and scene geometry. The same exploration can be replayed from first-person, third-person, and 360 panoramic cameras under different environmental states. Using WorldRover-Engine, we construct WorldRover-10M, whose sequences pair RGB with metric depth, camera trajectories, and trajectory-derived action signals throughout each exploration. Third-person subsets additionally provide dense optical flow, long-range 2D/3D point tracks with visibility, and a character trajectory distinct from the camera trajectory. The engine can render a traversal from first-person, third-person and 360 panoramic viewpoints, under different environmental states or with a neutral white material, while preserving the route and scene geometry. WorldRover therefore turns long-horizon world exploration into a scalable data-generation problem, providing supervision for models that must build, maintain, and revisit coherent representations of an explorable world.

Pano2World: End-to-End 3D Generation via Unified Multi-View Sequences

A single panorama captures the full visual sphere from one camera center, yet confines users to looking around in place without enabling true scene exploration. Converting a single panorama into a persistent, renderable 3D representation for free-viewpoint navigation has attracted growing interest; existing methods either adopt iterative per-view completion that propagates inpainting results to update the underlying geometry, leading to progressive error accumulation and cumbersome multi-step pipelines, or leverage the temporal consistency priors of video generation models, yet the continuous-trajectory constraint intrinsic to such models limits their flexibility in covering scenes from multiple directions simultaneously. We present Pano2World, which takes a single indoor panorama as input and directly outputs a persistent, explorable 3D Gaussian scene. Given the source panorama, Pano2World first reconstructs a coarse 3D Gaussian proxy and renders it at adaptively sampled nearby poses to obtain geometrically aligned guidance panoramas; a panoramic diffusion model then jointly denoises all target views via View-Aware Attention Routing, where each target view simultaneously receives geometric constraints from its corresponding guidance panorama and global semantic guidance from the source panorama, naturally enforcing cross-view consistency. To avoid the information loss incurred by decoding the multi-view hidden features formed during joint denoising back to the pixel domain via VAE, we introduce Latent Feature Adapter, a geometry-aware bridge module that directly distills these hidden features into a scene latent, subsequently decoded into the final 3D Gaussian scene. Experiments demonstrate that Pano2World significantly outperforms existing methods on the multi-position panoramic novel-view synthesis benchmark.

SpheRoPE: Zero-Shot Optimization-Free 360 Panorama Generation with Spherical RoPE

We present a zero-shot, training-free and optimization-free framework for generating 360 panoramic images and videos by directly injecting spherical priors into pre-trained diffusion transformers. Existing methods either rely on costly fine-tuning on scarce panoramic data that limits generalization, or leverage multi-step optimization that incurs prohibitive inference latency. We observe that contemporary generative models natively exhibit some panoramic priors from large-scale training. However, these emergent capabilities are insufficient, as the models fundamentally fail to satisfy the rigorous topological constraints imposed by equirectangular projection (ERP). We introduce a zero-shot and optimization-free approach that resolves these constraints at inference time. Spherical RoPE replaces standard rotary position embeddings: low-frequency channels are re-parameterized as 3D Cartesian coordinates to natively encode the spherical manifold, while high-frequency channels are harmonically quantized to enforce exact periodicity. Coupled with complementary Semantic Distortion classifier-free guidance (CFG) that explicitly steers geometry, we avoid retraining and inherit the full creative breadth of state-of-the-art models. Our approach generalizes across diverse backbones and 360 generation modalities. We demonstrate this across text-to-panorama using Flux.1, Flux.2, and LTX-Video backbones, achieving competitive performance against baselines, all while remaining training-free. DA^2: Depth Anything in Any Direction

Panorama has a full FoV (360^circtimes180^circ), offering a more complete visual description than perspective images. Thanks to this characteristic, panoramic depth estimation is gaining increasing traction in 3D vision. However, due to the scarcity of panoramic data, previous methods are often restricted to in-domain settings, leading to poor zero-shot generalization. Furthermore, due to the spherical distortions inherent in panoramas, many approaches rely on perspective splitting (e.g., cubemaps), which leads to suboptimal efficiency. To address these challenges, we propose DA^{2}: Depth Anything in Any Direction, an accurate, zero-shot generalizable, and fully end-to-end panoramic depth estimator. Specifically, for scaling up panoramic data, we introduce a data curation engine for generating high-quality panoramic depth data from perspective, and create sim543K panoramic RGB-depth pairs, bringing the total to sim607K. To further mitigate the spherical distortions, we present SphereViT, which explicitly leverages spherical coordinates to enforce the spherical geometric consistency in panoramic image features, yielding improved performance. A comprehensive benchmark on multiple datasets clearly demonstrates DA^{2}'s SoTA performance, with an average 38% improvement on AbsRel over the strongest zero-shot baseline. Surprisingly, DA^{2} even outperforms prior in-domain methods, highlighting its superior zero-shot generalization. Moreover, as an end-to-end solution, DA^{2} exhibits much higher efficiency over fusion-based approaches. Both the code and the curated panoramic data will be released. What Makes for Text to 360-degree Panorama Generation with Stable Diffusion?

Recent prosperity of text-to-image diffusion models, e.g. Stable Diffusion, has stimulated research to adapt them to 360-degree panorama generation. Prior work has demonstrated the feasibility of using conventional low-rank adaptation techniques on pre-trained diffusion models to generate panoramic images. However, the substantial domain gap between perspective and panoramic images raises questions about the underlying mechanisms enabling this empirical success. We hypothesize and examine that the trainable counterparts exhibit distinct behaviors when fine-tuned on panoramic data, and such an adaptation conceals some intrinsic mechanism to leverage the prior knowledge within the pre-trained diffusion models. Our analysis reveals the following: 1) the query and key matrices in the attention modules are responsible for common information that can be shared between the panoramic and perspective domains, thus are less relevant to panorama generation; and 2) the value and output weight matrices specialize in adapting pre-trained knowledge to the panoramic domain, playing a more critical role during fine-tuning for panorama generation. We empirically verify these insights by introducing a simple framework called UniPano, with the objective of establishing an elegant baseline for future research. UniPano not only outperforms existing methods but also significantly reduces memory usage and training time compared to prior dual-branch approaches, making it scalable for end-to-end panorama generation with higher resolution. The code will be released.

Consistency-diversity-realism Pareto fronts of conditional image generative models

Building world models that accurately and comprehensively represent the real world is the utmost aspiration for conditional image generative models as it would enable their use as world simulators. For these models to be successful world models, they should not only excel at image quality and prompt-image consistency but also ensure high representation diversity. However, current research in generative models mostly focuses on creative applications that are predominantly concerned with human preferences of image quality and aesthetics. We note that generative models have inference time mechanisms - or knobs - that allow the control of generation consistency, quality, and diversity. In this paper, we use state-of-the-art text-to-image and image-and-text-to-image models and their knobs to draw consistency-diversity-realism Pareto fronts that provide a holistic view on consistency-diversity-realism multi-objective. Our experiments suggest that realism and consistency can both be improved simultaneously; however there exists a clear tradeoff between realism/consistency and diversity. By looking at Pareto optimal points, we note that earlier models are better at representation diversity and worse in consistency/realism, and more recent models excel in consistency/realism while decreasing significantly the representation diversity. By computing Pareto fronts on a geodiverse dataset, we find that the first version of latent diffusion models tends to perform better than more recent models in all axes of evaluation, and there exist pronounced consistency-diversity-realism disparities between geographical regions. Overall, our analysis clearly shows that there is no best model and the choice of model should be determined by the downstream application. With this analysis, we invite the research community to consider Pareto fronts as an analytical tool to measure progress towards world models.

Enhancing In-context Panoramic Generation via Geometric-aware Pretraining

In this work, we present Canvas360, a two-stage framework for in-context panoramic generation that combines geometry-aware pretraining with downstream task-specific fine-tuning. To address the lack of large-scale, high-quality training data tailored to in-context panoramic tasks, we propose Canvas360Dataset, a collection of 1M high-quality paired panoramic samples for style transfer, inpainting, outpainting, and editing, enabling effective supervision across diverse in-context generation scenarios. On the modeling side, Canvas360 enhances text-to-panorama generation through parallel depth generation, velocity circular padding, and similarity loss regularization, enabling the model to learn geometry-aware representations, capture object distortion details, and improve geometric consistency and global coherence. Furthermore, empowered by strong panoramic priors, Canvas360 enables a unified in-context panoramic generation framework that supports diverse downstream tasks via token-level concatenation, surpassing prior methods in both task coverage and modeling flexibility. Extensive experiments show that Canvas360 improves panoramic image fidelity, achieving particularly strong performance on the panorama-specific FAED metric and competitive or leading results across the reported quantitative evaluations. Calibrating Panoramic Depth Estimation for Practical Localization and Mapping

The absolute depth values of surrounding environments provide crucial cues for various assistive technologies, such as localization, navigation, and 3D structure estimation. We propose that accurate depth estimated from panoramic images can serve as a powerful and light-weight input for a wide range of downstream tasks requiring 3D information. While panoramic images can easily capture the surrounding context from commodity devices, the estimated depth shares the limitations of conventional image-based depth estimation; the performance deteriorates under large domain shifts and the absolute values are still ambiguous to infer from 2D observations. By taking advantage of the holistic view, we mitigate such effects in a self-supervised way and fine-tune the network with geometric consistency during the test phase. Specifically, we construct a 3D point cloud from the current depth prediction and project the point cloud at various viewpoints or apply stretches on the current input image to generate synthetic panoramas. Then we minimize the discrepancy of the 3D structure estimated from synthetic images without collecting additional data. We empirically evaluate our method in robot navigation and map-free localization where our method shows large performance enhancements. Our calibration method can therefore widen the applicability under various external conditions, serving as a key component for practical panorama-based machine vision systems.

MetaEarth3D: Unlocking World-scale 3D Generation with Spatially Scalable Generative Modeling

Recent generative AI models have achieved remarkable breakthroughs in language and visual understanding. However, although these models can generate realistic visual content, their spatial scale remains confined to bounded environments, preventing them from capturing how geographic environments evolve across thousands of kilometers or from modeling the spatial structure of the large-scale physical world. This limitation poses a critical challenge for ultra-wide-area spatial intelligence in Earth observation and simulation, revealing a deeper gap in generative AI: progress has relied primarily on scaling model parameters and training data, while overlooking spatial scale as a core dimension of intelligence. Here, motivated by this missing dimension, we investigate spatial scale as a new scaling axis in foundation models and present MetaEarth3D, the first generative foundation model capable of spatially consistent generation at the planetary scale. Taking optical Earth observation simulation as a testbed, MetaEarth3D enables the generation of multi-level, unbounded, and diverse 3D scenes spanning large-scale terrains, medium-scale cities, and fine-grained street blocks. Built upon 10 million globally distributed real-world training images, MetaEarth3D demonstrates both strong visual realism and geospatial statistical realism. Beyond generation, MetaEarth3D serves as a generative data engine for diverse virtual environments in ultra-wide spatial intelligence. We argue that this study may help empower next-generation spatial intelligence for Earth observation.

World Reasoning Arena

World models (WMs) are intended to serve as internal simulators of the real world that enable agents to understand, anticipate, and act upon complex environments. Existing WM benchmarks remain narrowly focused on next-state prediction and visual fidelity, overlooking the richer simulation capabilities required for intelligent behavior. To address this gap, we introduce WR-Arena, a comprehensive benchmark for evaluating WMs along three fundamental dimensions of next world simulation: (i) Action Simulation Fidelity, the ability to interpret and follow semantically meaningful, multi-step instructions and generate diverse counterfactual rollouts; (ii) Long-horizon Forecast, the ability to sustain accurate, coherent, and physically plausible simulations across extended interactions; and (iii) Simulative Reasoning and Planning, the ability to support goal-directed reasoning by simulating, comparing, and selecting among alternative futures in both structured and open-ended environments. We build a task taxonomy and curate diverse datasets designed to probe these capabilities, moving beyond single-turn and perceptual evaluations. Through extensive experiments with state-of-the-art WMs, our results expose a substantial gap between current models and human-level hypothetical reasoning, and establish WR-Arena as both a diagnostic tool and a guideline for advancing next-generation world models capable of robust understanding, forecasting, and purposeful action. The code is available at https://github.com/MBZUAI-IFM/WR-Arena.

Panoramic Affordance Prediction

Affordance prediction serves as a critical bridge between perception and action in embodied AI. However, existing research is confined to pinhole camera models, which suffer from narrow Fields of View (FoV) and fragmented observations, often missing critical holistic environmental context. In this paper, we present the first exploration into Panoramic Affordance Prediction, utilizing 360-degree imagery to capture global spatial relationships and holistic scene understanding. To facilitate this novel task, we first introduce PAP-12K, a large-scale benchmark dataset containing over 1,000 ultra-high-resolution (12k, 11904 x 5952) panoramic images with over 12k carefully annotated QA pairs and affordance masks. Furthermore, we propose PAP, a training-free, coarse-to-fine pipeline inspired by the human foveal visual system to tackle the ultra-high resolution and severe distortion inherent in panoramic images. PAP employs recursive visual routing via grid prompting to progressively locate targets, applies an adaptive gaze mechanism to rectify local geometric distortions, and utilizes a cascaded grounding pipeline to extract precise instance-level masks. Experimental results on PAP-12K reveal that existing affordance prediction methods designed for standard perspective images suffer severe performance degradation and fail due to the unique challenges of panoramic vision. In contrast, PAP framework effectively overcomes these obstacles, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art baselines and highlighting the immense potential of panoramic perception for robust embodied intelligence.

PERF: Panoramic Neural Radiance Field from a Single Panorama

Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has achieved substantial progress in novel view synthesis given multi-view images. Recently, some works have attempted to train a NeRF from a single image with 3D priors. They mainly focus on a limited field of view with a few occlusions, which greatly limits their scalability to real-world 360-degree panoramic scenarios with large-size occlusions. In this paper, we present PERF, a 360-degree novel view synthesis framework that trains a panoramic neural radiance field from a single panorama. Notably, PERF allows 3D roaming in a complex scene without expensive and tedious image collection. To achieve this goal, we propose a novel collaborative RGBD inpainting method and a progressive inpainting-and-erasing method to lift up a 360-degree 2D scene to a 3D scene. Specifically, we first predict a panoramic depth map as initialization given a single panorama and reconstruct visible 3D regions with volume rendering. Then we introduce a collaborative RGBD inpainting approach into a NeRF for completing RGB images and depth maps from random views, which is derived from an RGB Stable Diffusion model and a monocular depth estimator. Finally, we introduce an inpainting-and-erasing strategy to avoid inconsistent geometry between a newly-sampled view and reference views. The two components are integrated into the learning of NeRFs in a unified optimization framework and achieve promising results. Extensive experiments on Replica and a new dataset PERF-in-the-wild demonstrate the superiority of our PERF over state-of-the-art methods. Our PERF can be widely used for real-world applications, such as panorama-to-3D, text-to-3D, and 3D scene stylization applications. Project page and code are available at https://perf-project.github.io/ and https://github.com/perf-project/PeRF.

4DWorldBench: A Comprehensive Evaluation Framework for 3D/4D World Generation Models

World Generation Models are emerging as a cornerstone of next-generation multimodal intelligence systems. Unlike traditional 2D visual generation, World Models aim to construct realistic, dynamic, and physically consistent 3D/4D worlds from images, videos, or text. These models not only need to produce high-fidelity visual content but also maintain coherence across space, time, physics, and instruction control, enabling applications in virtual reality, autonomous driving, embodied intelligence, and content creation. However, prior benchmarks emphasize different evaluation dimensions and lack a unified assessment of world-realism capability. To systematically evaluate World Models, we introduce the 4DWorldBench, which measures models across four key dimensions: Perceptual Quality, Condition-4D Alignment, Physical Realism, and 4D Consistency. The benchmark covers tasks such as Image-to-3D/4D, Video-to-4D, Text-to-3D/4D. Beyond these, we innovatively introduce adaptive conditioning across multiple modalities, which not only integrates but also extends traditional evaluation paradigms. To accommodate different modality-conditioned inputs, we map all modality conditions into a unified textual space during evaluation, and further integrate LLM-as-judge, MLLM-as-judge, and traditional network-based methods. This unified and adaptive design enables more comprehensive and consistent evaluation of alignment, physical realism, and cross-modal coherence. Preliminary human studies further demonstrate that our adaptive tool selection achieves closer agreement with subjective human judgments. We hope this benchmark will serve as a foundation for objective comparisons and improvements, accelerating the transition from "visual generation" to "world generation." Pano2Room: Novel View Synthesis from a Single Indoor Panorama

Recent single-view 3D generative methods have made significant advancements by leveraging knowledge distilled from extensive 3D object datasets. However, challenges persist in the synthesis of 3D scenes from a single view, primarily due to the complexity of real-world environments and the limited availability of high-quality prior resources. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach called Pano2Room, designed to automatically reconstruct high-quality 3D indoor scenes from a single panoramic image. These panoramic images can be easily generated using a panoramic RGBD inpainter from captures at a single location with any camera. The key idea is to initially construct a preliminary mesh from the input panorama, and iteratively refine this mesh using a panoramic RGBD inpainter while collecting photo-realistic 3D-consistent pseudo novel views. Finally, the refined mesh is converted into a 3D Gaussian Splatting field and trained with the collected pseudo novel views. This pipeline enables the reconstruction of real-world 3D scenes, even in the presence of large occlusions, and facilitates the synthesis of photo-realistic novel views with detailed geometry. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments have been conducted to validate the superiority of our method in single-panorama indoor novel synthesis compared to the state-of-the-art. Our code and data are available at https://github.com/TrickyGo/Pano2Room.

PAIWorld: A 3D-Consistent World Foundation Model for Robotic Manipulation

World foundation models (WFMs) are powerful simulators, yet they predominantly operate in a single-view setting and lack the multi-view 3D consistency required for robotic manipulation. While robotic systems rely on multiple cameras (egocentric, eye-to-hand, and wrist-mounted) for policy learning, current multi-view world models simply concatenate view tokens without explicit geometric reasoning. This causes cross-view object drift, depth inconsistency, and texture misalignment. We trace these failures to two deficiencies: the absence of an explicit inter-view communication mechanism and the lack of a 3D geometric prior. We argue that resolving both simultaneously is necessary and sufficient. To address this, we present PAIWorld, a framework that augments diffusion-transformer world models via three core components: (1) Geometry-Aware Cross-View Attention blocks that establish an explicit pathway across views, (2) Geometric Rotary Position Embedding that encodes camera ray directions and extrinsic poses into the attention mechanism, and (3) Latent 3D-REPA, which distills 3D-aware features from frozen 3D foundation models to ensure 3D consistency. Built upon a DiT-based world foundation model, PAIWorld achieves state-of-the-art multi-view 3D consistency on robotic manipulation benchmarks, ranking 1st on the WorldArena leaderboard and 2nd on the AgiBot-Challenge2026 leaderboard, while enabling downstream applications such as model-based planning, world action models, and multi-view policy post-training.

WorldCraft: From Camera Navigation to Object Manipulation in Interactive Video World Models

Recent video-based world models have made pixel-space environments interactive at the camera level: users can navigate viewpoints while the model generates coherent visual continuations. Yet their action spaces remain incomplete: users can move the camera, but cannot act on individual objects. Since real-world interaction is inherently object-centric, such models remain closer to passive scene observers than truly manipulable environments. We present WorldCraft, a framework that expands interactive video world models from camera navigation to object-level trajectory actions. Given a user click and a sketched path, WorldCraft generates future frames in which the selected object follows the prescribed trajectory while the camera continues to navigate the scene. WorldCraft achieves this through a trajectory-centric control pipeline: First, Normalized World Trajectory (NWT) represents user-drawn motion in a camera-invariant world coordinate system and dynamically re-projects it under the current camera pose, separating object motion from camera-induced screen-space displacement; Spatial-Pathway LoRA (SP-LoRA) then injects this world-space signal through the model's spatial-control pathway, adding object manipulation capability while preserving the pretrained camera controller; finally, Trajectory-Anchored State Persistence (TASP) treats the world trajectory as a persistent spatial state and refreshes autoregressive memory after trajectory-conditioned generation, allowing moved objects to reappear at their updated positions after leaving the camera view. Experiments show that WorldCraft enables accurate object control, preserves the video-based world model's camera fidelity under camera-only evaluation, and maintains object state across long autoregressive rollouts with off-camera excursions.

EAGLE-360: Embodied Active Global-to-Local Exploration in 360^circ

While Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have demonstrated exceptional capabilities in standard visual understanding, adapting them for active visual search in 360^circ panoramic environments exposes fundamental limitations. Specifically, standard MLLMs struggle to effectively model inherent panoramic properties, such as severe polar distortion and continuous cylindrical topologies, which significantly degrades target detection accuracy. Consequently, existing panoramic search methods attempt to compensate by relying heavily on fragmented local viewpoints. Burdened by rigid initialization and a lack of global panoramic priors, these approaches suffer from myopic, inefficient exploration and struggle with robust error recovery when targets are out of view. To overcome these challenges, we propose EAGLE-360, a novel Embodied Active Global-to-Local Exploration framework. Rather than performing exhaustive local searches, EAGLE-360 leverages global priors to establish an initial holistic perspective, iteratively reasoning and progressively narrowing the search space. Architecturally, we adapt RoPE Rolling, a coordinate-shifting positional encoding mechanism, to seamlessly model the continuous topologies of panoramas. To facilitate this paradigm, we construct the large-scale EAGLE-360 dataset, comprising 14,000+ 4K panoramas and 70,000+ rounds of high-quality VQA dialogues. By employing a training pipeline that integrates Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) with Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO), we effectively elicit complex spatial reasoning and tool-calling capabilities. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EAGLE-360 establishes a new state-of-the-art for 360^circ visual search, achieving nearly an 8-fold increase in accuracy over the base model while significantly enhancing exploration efficiency.

OmniCoT: A Benchmark for Global and Multi-Step Panoramic Reasoning

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have demonstrated promising spatial reasoning capabilities, while these abilities remain underexplored in the emerging visual modality of panoramic imagery. The full 360°times180° field of view of panoramas essentially supports complex global multi-step reasoning, which is also the fundamental advantage of panoramas in applications such as embodied intelligence. However, existing panoramic benchmarks largely focus on simplistic queries that rely on local cues or single-/few-step reasoning, thereby ignoring the fundamental advantage of panoramas and failing to fully exploit their potential. To address this gap, we introduce OmniCoT, a panoramic spatial reasoning suite designed to enable MLLMs to use global evidence and perform multi-step inference across viewpoints. It includes OmniCoT-B (6.7K data) for evaluation, which measures both answer accuracy and reasoning quality, OmniCoT-Real (1K data) as a manually annotated real-world subset to quantify the Sim-to-Real gap. For training, OmniCoT-T (14.3K data) is purpose-built with structured stepwise Chain-of-Thought annotations that explicitly link intermediate reasoning steps to panoramic evidence. Based on OmniCoT-T, we introduce OmniCoT-R1 and adopt a two-stage training strategy tailored to the geometrically complex panoramic space, where Supervised Fine-tuning (SFT) anchors reasoning to panoramic evidence (e.g., bearings, proximity) and GRPO penalizes geometrically incoherent paths to consolidate global 360° spatial consistency. Through OmniCoT, we aim to recalibrate the difficulty of panoramic spatial reasoning to better align with the intrinsic capabilities of panoramic imagery, thereby fostering meaningful progress in this research area.

PanoEnv: Exploring 3D Spatial Intelligence in Panoramic Environments with Reinforcement Learning

360 panoramic images are increasingly used in virtual reality, autonomous driving, and robotics for holistic scene understanding. However, current Vision-Language Models (VLMs) struggle with 3D spatial reasoning on Equirectangular Projection (ERP) images due to geometric distortion and limited 3D supervision. We introduce PanoEnv, a large-scale VQA benchmark built from synthetic 3D environments, containing 14.8K questions across five categories (e.g., relative position, volume comparison) grounded in accurate 3D annotations including depth, segmentation, and bounding boxes. Benchmarking 14 state-of-the-art VLMs reveals limited 3D understanding, achieving only 49.34% overall accuracy and 8.36% on open-ended (OE) questions. To enhance 3D reasoning, we propose a reinforcement learning post-training framework based on Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) with a ground-truth-guided reward that incorporates five geometry-aware strategies such as distance tolerance and spatial consistency. A two-stage curriculum further mitigates catastrophic forgetting: Stage 1 trains on structured tasks (true/false and multiple choice), and Stage 2 fine-tunes on mixed open-ended data to improve generalization. Our 7B model achieves new state-of-the-art performance, improving overall accuracy to 52.93% (+3.59%) and open-ended accuracy to 14.83% while maintaining structured-task performance. It also achieves top semantic evaluation scores (Q-Score 6.24, P-Score 5.95), surpassing 32B models. These results demonstrate that PanoEnv-QA and our curriculum-based RL framework effectively instill 3D spatial intelligence in VLMs for omnidirectional perception.

OmniWorld: A Multi-Domain and Multi-Modal Dataset for 4D World Modeling

The field of 4D world modeling - aiming to jointly capture spatial geometry and temporal dynamics - has witnessed remarkable progress in recent years, driven by advances in large-scale generative models and multimodal learning. However, the development of truly general 4D world models remains fundamentally constrained by the availability of high-quality data. Existing datasets and benchmarks often lack the dynamic complexity, multi-domain diversity, and spatial-temporal annotations required to support key tasks such as 4D geometric reconstruction, future prediction, and camera-control video generation. To address this gap, we introduce OmniWorld, a large-scale, multi-domain, multi-modal dataset specifically designed for 4D world modeling. OmniWorld consists of a newly collected OmniWorld-Game dataset and several curated public datasets spanning diverse domains. Compared with existing synthetic datasets, OmniWorld-Game provides richer modality coverage, larger scale, and more realistic dynamic interactions. Based on this dataset, we establish a challenging benchmark that exposes the limitations of current state-of-the-art (SOTA) approaches in modeling complex 4D environments. Moreover, fine-tuning existing SOTA methods on OmniWorld leads to significant performance gains across 4D reconstruction and video generation tasks, strongly validating OmniWorld as a powerful resource for training and evaluation. We envision OmniWorld as a catalyst for accelerating the development of general-purpose 4D world models, ultimately advancing machines' holistic understanding of the physical world.

Scene4U: Hierarchical Layered 3D Scene Reconstruction from Single Panoramic Image for Your Immerse Exploration

The reconstruction of immersive and realistic 3D scenes holds significant practical importance in various fields of computer vision and computer graphics. Typically, immersive and realistic scenes should be free from obstructions by dynamic objects, maintain global texture consistency, and allow for unrestricted exploration. The current mainstream methods for image-driven scene construction involves iteratively refining the initial image using a moving virtual camera to generate the scene. However, previous methods struggle with visual discontinuities due to global texture inconsistencies under varying camera poses, and they frequently exhibit scene voids caused by foreground-background occlusions. To this end, we propose a novel layered 3D scene reconstruction framework from panoramic image, named Scene4U. Specifically, Scene4U integrates an open-vocabulary segmentation model with a large language model to decompose a real panorama into multiple layers. Then, we employs a layered repair module based on diffusion model to restore occluded regions using visual cues and depth information, generating a hierarchical representation of the scene. The multi-layer panorama is then initialized as a 3D Gaussian Splatting representation, followed by layered optimization, which ultimately produces an immersive 3D scene with semantic and structural consistency that supports free exploration. Scene4U outperforms state-of-the-art method, improving by 24.24% in LPIPS and 24.40% in BRISQUE, while also achieving the fastest training speed. Additionally, to demonstrate the robustness of Scene4U and allow users to experience immersive scenes from various landmarks, we build WorldVista3D dataset for 3D scene reconstruction, which contains panoramic images of globally renowned sites. The implementation code and dataset will be released at https://github.com/LongHZ140516/Scene4U .

Omni-WorldBench: Towards a Comprehensive Interaction-Centric Evaluation for World Models

Video--based world models have emerged along two dominant paradigms: video generation and 3D reconstruction. However, existing evaluation benchmarks either focus narrowly on visual fidelity and text--video alignment for generative models, or rely on static 3D reconstruction metrics that fundamentally neglect temporal dynamics. We argue that the future of world modeling lies in 4D generation, which jointly models spatial structure and temporal evolution. In this paradigm, the core capability is interactive response: the ability to faithfully reflect how interaction actions drive state transitions across space and time. Yet no existing benchmark systematically evaluates this critical dimension. To address this gap, we propose Omni--WorldBench, a comprehensive benchmark specifically designed to evaluate the interactive response capabilities of world models in 4D settings. Omni--WorldBench comprises two key components: Omni--WorldSuite, a systematic prompt suite spanning diverse interaction levels and scene types; and Omni--Metrics, an agent-based evaluation framework that quantifies world modeling capabilities by measuring the causal impact of interaction actions on both final outcomes and intermediate state evolution trajectories. We conduct extensive evaluations of 18 representative world models across multiple paradigms. Our analysis reveals critical limitations of current world models in interactive response, providing actionable insights for future research. Omni-WorldBench will be publicly released to foster progress in interactive 4D world modeling.

Omnidirectional Multi-Object Tracking

Panoramic imagery, with its 360{\deg} field of view, offers comprehensive information to support Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) in capturing spatial and temporal relationships of surrounding objects. However, most MOT algorithms are tailored for pinhole images with limited views, impairing their effectiveness in panoramic settings. Additionally, panoramic image distortions, such as resolution loss, geometric deformation, and uneven lighting, hinder direct adaptation of existing MOT methods, leading to significant performance degradation. To address these challenges, we propose OmniTrack, an omnidirectional MOT framework that incorporates Tracklet Management to introduce temporal cues, FlexiTrack Instances for object localization and association, and the CircularStatE Module to alleviate image and geometric distortions. This integration enables tracking in panoramic field-of-view scenarios, even under rapid sensor motion. To mitigate the lack of panoramic MOT datasets, we introduce the QuadTrack dataset--a comprehensive panoramic dataset collected by a quadruped robot, featuring diverse challenges such as panoramic fields of view, intense motion, and complex environments. Extensive experiments on the public JRDB dataset and the newly introduced QuadTrack benchmark demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of the proposed framework. Open Panoramic Segmentation

Panoramic images, capturing a 360{\deg} field of view (FoV), encompass omnidirectional spatial information crucial for scene understanding. However, it is not only costly to obtain training-sufficient dense-annotated panoramas but also application-restricted when training models in a close-vocabulary setting. To tackle this problem, in this work, we define a new task termed Open Panoramic Segmentation (OPS), where models are trained with FoV-restricted pinhole images in the source domain in an open-vocabulary setting while evaluated with FoV-open panoramic images in the target domain, enabling the zero-shot open panoramic semantic segmentation ability of models. Moreover, we propose a model named OOOPS with a Deformable Adapter Network (DAN), which significantly improves zero-shot panoramic semantic segmentation performance. To further enhance the distortion-aware modeling ability from the pinhole source domain, we propose a novel data augmentation method called Random Equirectangular Projection (RERP) which is specifically designed to address object deformations in advance. Surpassing other state-of-the-art open-vocabulary semantic segmentation approaches, a remarkable performance boost on three panoramic datasets, WildPASS, Stanford2D3D, and Matterport3D, proves the effectiveness of our proposed OOOPS model with RERP on the OPS task, especially +2.2% on outdoor WildPASS and +2.4% mIoU on indoor Stanford2D3D. SphereDiff: Tuning-free Omnidirectional Panoramic Image and Video Generation via Spherical Latent Representation

The increasing demand for AR/VR applications has highlighted the need for high-quality 360-degree panoramic content. However, generating high-quality 360-degree panoramic images and videos remains a challenging task due to the severe distortions introduced by equirectangular projection (ERP). Existing approaches either fine-tune pretrained diffusion models on limited ERP datasets or attempt tuning-free methods that still rely on ERP latent representations, leading to discontinuities near the poles. In this paper, we introduce SphereDiff, a novel approach for seamless 360-degree panoramic image and video generation using state-of-the-art diffusion models without additional tuning. We define a spherical latent representation that ensures uniform distribution across all perspectives, mitigating the distortions inherent in ERP. We extend MultiDiffusion to spherical latent space and propose a spherical latent sampling method to enable direct use of pretrained diffusion models. Moreover, we introduce distortion-aware weighted averaging to further improve the generation quality in the projection process. Our method outperforms existing approaches in generating 360-degree panoramic content while maintaining high fidelity, making it a robust solution for immersive AR/VR applications. DynamicScaler: Seamless and Scalable Video Generation for Panoramic Scenes

The increasing demand for immersive AR/VR applications and spatial intelligence has heightened the need to generate high-quality scene-level and 360{\deg} panoramic video. However, most video diffusion models are constrained by limited resolution and aspect ratio, which restricts their applicability to scene-level dynamic content synthesis. In this work, we propose the DynamicScaler, addressing these challenges by enabling spatially scalable and panoramic dynamic scene synthesis that preserves coherence across panoramic scenes of arbitrary size. Specifically, we introduce a Offset Shifting Denoiser, facilitating efficient, synchronous, and coherent denoising panoramic dynamic scenes via a diffusion model with fixed resolution through a seamless rotating Window, which ensures seamless boundary transitions and consistency across the entire panoramic space, accommodating varying resolutions and aspect ratios. Additionally, we employ a Global Motion Guidance mechanism to ensure both local detail fidelity and global motion continuity. Extensive experiments demonstrate our method achieves superior content and motion quality in panoramic scene-level video generation, offering a training-free, efficient, and scalable solution for immersive dynamic scene creation with constant VRAM consumption regardless of the output video resolution. CamPVG: Camera-Controlled Panoramic Video Generation with Epipolar-Aware Diffusion

Recently, camera-controlled video generation has seen rapid development, offering more precise control over video generation. However, existing methods predominantly focus on camera control in perspective projection video generation, while geometrically consistent panoramic video generation remains challenging. This limitation is primarily due to the inherent complexities in panoramic pose representation and spherical projection. To address this issue, we propose CamPVG, the first diffusion-based framework for panoramic video generation guided by precise camera poses. We achieve camera position encoding for panoramic images and cross-view feature aggregation based on spherical projection. Specifically, we propose a panoramic Plücker embedding that encodes camera extrinsic parameters through spherical coordinate transformation. This pose encoder effectively captures panoramic geometry, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods when applied to equirectangular projections. Additionally, we introduce a spherical epipolar module that enforces geometric constraints through adaptive attention masking along epipolar lines. This module enables fine-grained cross-view feature aggregation, substantially enhancing the quality and consistency of generated panoramic videos. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method generates high-quality panoramic videos consistent with camera trajectories, far surpassing existing methods in panoramic video generation.

LatticeWorld: A Multimodal Large Language Model-Empowered Framework for Interactive Complex World Generation

Recent research has been increasingly focusing on developing 3D world models that simulate complex real-world scenarios. World models have found broad applications across various domains, including embodied AI, autonomous driving, entertainment, etc. A more realistic simulation with accurate physics will effectively narrow the sim-to-real gap and allow us to gather rich information about the real world conveniently. While traditional manual modeling has enabled the creation of virtual 3D scenes, modern approaches have leveraged advanced machine learning algorithms for 3D world generation, with most recent advances focusing on generative methods that can create virtual worlds based on user instructions. This work explores such a research direction by proposing LatticeWorld, a simple yet effective 3D world generation framework that streamlines the industrial production pipeline of 3D environments. LatticeWorld leverages lightweight LLMs (LLaMA-2-7B) alongside the industry-grade rendering engine (e.g., Unreal Engine 5) to generate a dynamic environment. Our proposed framework accepts textual descriptions and visual instructions as multimodal inputs and creates large-scale 3D interactive worlds with dynamic agents, featuring competitive multi-agent interaction, high-fidelity physics simulation, and real-time rendering. We conduct comprehensive experiments to evaluate LatticeWorld, showing that it achieves superior accuracy in scene layout generation and visual fidelity. Moreover, LatticeWorld achieves over a 90times increase in industrial production efficiency while maintaining high creative quality compared with traditional manual production methods. ExScene: Free-View 3D Scene Reconstruction with Gaussian Splatting from a Single Image

The increasing demand for augmented and virtual reality applications has highlighted the importance of crafting immersive 3D scenes from a simple single-view image. However, due to the partial priors provided by single-view input, existing methods are often limited to reconstruct low-consistency 3D scenes with narrow fields of view from single-view input. These limitations make them less capable of generalizing to reconstruct immersive scenes. To address this problem, we propose ExScene, a two-stage pipeline to reconstruct an immersive 3D scene from any given single-view image. ExScene designs a novel multimodal diffusion model to generate a high-fidelity and globally consistent panoramic image. We then develop a panoramic depth estimation approach to calculate geometric information from panorama, and we combine geometric information with high-fidelity panoramic image to train an initial 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model. Following this, we introduce a GS refinement technique with 2D stable video diffusion priors. We add camera trajectory consistency and color-geometric priors into the denoising process of diffusion to improve color and spatial consistency across image sequences. These refined sequences are then used to fine-tune the initial 3DGS model, leading to better reconstruction quality. Experimental results demonstrate that our ExScene achieves consistent and immersive scene reconstruction using only single-view input, significantly surpassing state-of-the-art baselines.
